The recent and rapid spread of COVID-19 has left most businesses struggling.  Employees are wondering if they’ll still have a job after this passes and employers are doing everything they can to stay afloat.  When what you’ve always done to be successful is no longer possible, you must pivot and come up with creative ways to solve your problems.  Turning to digital marketing is a solution.

As a digital marketing company, MP Consulting is proficient in marketing businesses like yours online.  We are here to help you get through these hard times by providing a few ideas on how to continue marketing your practice during COVID-19.

1. Update Your Patients

If you haven’t already, we urge you to contact your patients and update them on how you’re handling the current situation.  By utilizing your database to communicate with your patients, you are providing them the information they need to make informed decisions and reminding them that your business is there for them.  These little reminders go a long way in building trust with your patients.

2. Utilize Social Media to Communicate Your Message

Re-using content you’ve already created is a cost effective way to reach more of your patients.  You spent time putting together a carefully worded email that captures the gravity of the situation we all find ourselves in so feel free to reuse that message and share it through your social media channels.  Many businesses are finding creative ways to continue serving their patients – these may include virtual appointments or curbside pickups.  Make sure to include that information in your updates as well.  Pro tip – Adapt your messaging to the channel in which you’re sharing it.  Longer form text is more suitable to email than it is Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

3. Sell Online

If you don’t sell your products online, now is the perfect time to start!  Online consultations, digital downloads, physical products – adding these items to your online store is an easy way to give your patients an option to support your business (and receive the things they want and need) from home.

4. Do an Online Giveaway

Everyone loves free stuff!  Use the heightened usage of social media to increase exposure and boost your brand recognition.  Many businesses run their giveaways by requiring you to like their photo, follow their account, and tag a certain number of people in the comments to enter the giveaway.  This helps broaden your exposure by putting your brand in front of people who have never heard of your business before!  We love this idea but urge you to be sensitive with your messaging.  You don’t want to come across as trying to capitalize on the current situation.

5. Prepare For the Future

If your business is closed, or even just slower than normal, you and your team may have extra time on your hands.  Take advantage of that time by using it to plan and prepare for the future.  Put together a marketing strategy for the rest of the year, come up with creative content for your patients, share your knowledge through a blog post, educate your patients with webinars or videos, update or redesign your website…  You can also use this time to train your staff and team.  Invest your time wisely during this slowdown so when things return to normal you’re prepared and poised for success.

These are just a few ideas to help you make the most of your business’ situation.  Taking advantage of the downtime to make your business better will help you come out stronger than before.  If you need help coming up with ideas or just want to run your marketing strategy by us, feel free to reach out!  Our consultations are free and we even offer a discount to all fellow Acquios Alliance members!
